Policy Studies Associates (PSA) is a research firm located in Washington, DC. PSA conducts research in education and youth development.
CCD provided the data for several large-scale quantitative analyses performed by PSA. The analyses focused on participation in and results of after-school programs, and data is stored using Microsoft SQL Server. Many complicated computer routines were employed to clean up, match, and use various qualities of data. Each year data was added to the databases used in order to create cross-year analyses and connecting students’ performance for periods of up to 5 years. CCD also assisted PSA with acquiring consents from participants in the studies. Overall, millions of attendance records were analyzed for tens of thousands of students in the PSA studies.
