SQL Server help in Gaithersburg or Germantown

Hello CCD, LLC,
We are running an HR system in SQL Server 2005 (HROffice, it’s by Ascentis). It runs pretty well, but we don’t know if we should upgrade to SQL Server 2012 or not. What do you think? Do you get questions like this in your computer consulting practice?

  1. Hello Bob,
Wow, this question exactly came up several months ago with one of our clients. We advised the client to upgrade to SQL Server 2012. It is generally advisable to skip no more than one generation of software before upgrading. Since SQL Server 2005, Microsoft has released SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2012, so it’s probably time for you to upgrade as well.
Our client experienced improved performance with their SQL Server 2012 configuration and they are very pleased with it. Let us know if we can help you with this or any other computer progrmming or computer consulting needs!
