February 11, 2014 by visitor

I know about @@IDENTITY and IDENT_CURRENT and SCOPE_IDENTITY in Sql Server but don’t understand the pros and cons attached to each.

Can someone please explain the differences and when I should be using each?

What is the difference between Floating Point, Money and Real types in MS SQL Server?

January 18, 2014 by visitor

I have noticed when working in SQL Server that the values I store in column type REAL get changed. For example if I store a value of 32.54, it returns a value of 32.53999878999. Does anyone know why this happens?

SQL Server question from a company in Maryland

October 30, 2013 by visitor

Hi.  As I entered in the topic, I work for a company in Maryland.  I have considerable experience working with Microsoft Access, but not much with SQL Server.    I have a question on SQL Server:  What is a stored procedure?  Is this like a module in Microsoft Access?

SQL Server help in Gaithersburg or Germantown

October 28, 2013 by visitor

Hello CCD, LLC,
We are running an HR system in SQL Server 2005 (HROffice, it’s by Ascentis). It runs pretty well, but we don’t know if we should upgrade to SQL Server 2012 or not. What do you think? Do you get questions like this in your computer consulting practice?

We’re in Maryland as well and have a SQL Server question

October 22, 2013 by visitor

Hello CCD,

I’m glad to see that there are local IT companies in Maryland with SQL Server expertise.  My colleagues and I were wondering how to get rid of duplicate rows in a SQL Server table.  Do you know about this?
