We are running an HR system in SQL Server 2005 (HROffice, it’s by Ascentis). It runs pretty well, but we don’t know if we should upgrade to SQL Server 2012 or not. What do you think? Do you get questions like this in your computer consulting practice?

The following guide helps you to troubleshoot your SQL Server if its running very slow:
First check the processor and memory usage to see that processor is not above 80% utilization and memory not above 40-45% utilization then check the disk utilization using Performance Monitor, Secondly, use SQL Profiler to check for the users and current SQL activities and jobs running which might be a problem. Third would be to run UPDATE_STATISTICS command to update the indexes.

Washington DC SQL Server computer consulting company needed- Â We have a legacy database done in SQL Server. Â It used to be in SQL Server 2000, but we recently tried updating it to SQL Server 2005 and then SQL Server 2008, but now it doesn’t work properly! Â It also stores information on these homes such as items that need replaced, certificates granted, and outstanding problems. Â I think the system was done using SQL Server. I have a small business located in the District of Columbia. My Access database contains all of my clients and their accounts (payments, etc.). However, the database was set up using an older version of Microsoft Access. I see that your company does computer programming around Washington DC. Can you help me upgrade my Access database? Our organization is looking for some help with MySQL and PHP. We have a database of clients and potential clients- We would like to publish some of the information in this database on the web so that our team members across the country can easily access it. Is this the sort of computer consulting that you do? I guess you would call it database management.
